train_stationThere are several daily train services to and from the Mayo towns of Westport, Castlebar, Claremorris, Ballyhuanis, Ballina and Foxford. These services connect Mayo to Dublin, Athlone and the east of Ireland. Visit the Irish Rail website for full schedule and fare information. The Ballina railway station opened on 19 May 1873 and is operated by Iarnród Éireann. The branch runs from Manulla Junction on the Dublin Heuston and connects with the Westport railway line.
